Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager

We are currently seeking a dedicated Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager for a permanent, full-time opportunity based in either Toronto or Ottawa. The Role

In this dynamic position, you will be instrumental in guiding projects from the initial proposal phase through to successful completion. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Project Leadership & Reporting: Drafting technical proposals, managing project lifecycles, analyzing complex data, and authoring comprehensive engineering reports.

• Field & Laboratory Operations: Executing technical assignments, including on-site field testing and laboratory evaluations of foundational materials such as asphalt, concrete, and soils.

• Quality Assurance: Providing rigorous QA/QC oversight and field inspections across various infrastructure and construction sites.

• Site Assessments: Leading field drilling programs, slope stability evaluations, site inspections, and monitoring pile driving operations.

• Technical Analysis: Performing necessary engineering calculations to support accurate technical documentation and reporting.

• Client & Team Collaboration: Fostering strong relationships through regular meetings and active engagement with internal team members and external stakeholders.

• Project Delivery: Championing the delivery of assignments on schedule and within budget parameters to ensure top-tier satisfaction for both public and private sector clients.

• Safety & Compliance: Upholding and promoting corporate safety policies, ensuring you and your colleagues execute all tasks with the highest standard of occupational health and safety.

(Please note: This role requires maintaining valid driving credentials, appropriate auto insurance, and the use of a personal vehicle for site visits.)

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Active registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

• A minimum of 5 years of professional consulting experience specifically within the geotechnical engineering space.

• Eligibility to successfully obtain federal security clearance.

• A valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and the flexibility to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Skills

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities in English.

• A meticulous approach to technical work, defined by high attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.

• The versatility to thrive independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Prior hands-on experience in project management, including advanced proposal preparation and technical writing.

• Familiarity with industry-standard engineering software, including Auto-CAD and geotechnical modeling programs (e.g., Slope/W, Settle3D).
