  • Sampling Management: Oversee all processing variables—including material preparation, dryers, and thermolator settings—to guarantee flawless, on-time sample execution.

  • Process Optimization: Conduct comprehensive Design of Experiments (DOE) on individual parts to maximize quality and stability before handing components off to Quality Control.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex molding, tooling, and processing anomalies on the production floor.

  • Continuous Improvement: Champion lean manufacturing methodologies to systematically minimize changeover and setup times while eliminating operational waste.

  • Team Leadership: Coordinate, schedule, mentor, and monitor the daily tasks of Setup and Process personnel, leading by example with a strong work ethic.

  • Material Procurement: Requisition required production supplies, materials, and components as necessary to prevent workflow interruptions.

Core Competencies:
  • Technical Expertise: Exceptional mechanical aptitude coupled with an analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate teams, resolve workplace conflicts, and communicate transparently.
  • Safety & Organization: A high level of health and safety awareness, paired with the capability to manage multiple operational priorities seamlessly.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in plastic injection molding processes.

  • Education: Technical trade college diploma, certification, or an equivalent combination of industry experience.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mold design principles and advanced processing methodologies.

  • Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems (such as IQMS), technical manuals, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

  • Safety Frameworks: Solid understanding of industrial health and safety standards, including OHSA regulations and WHMIS guidelines. Familiarity with overhead crane, forklift, skylift, and Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) protocols is highly preferred.

Workplace Expectations:
  • Safety Compliance: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and report potential hazards or incidents immediately to safeguard the team and environment.

  • Quality & Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding proprietary company designs while driving production efficiencies and reporting any equipment non-conformances.

  • Flexibility: Attend all mandatory team communication briefings, shift changeovers, and specialized training sessions. Flexibility to perform compulsory overtime within legislative frameworks when production demands require it.
