Leap Recruitment Partners is pleased to represent a prominent and growing leader in the Canadian insurance brokerage sector. Our client is looking for a meticulous, career-motivated Accounting Assistant to join their expanding finance team in Vaughan.
Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is designed for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of financial operations, gaining comprehensive experience in payroll management, month-end procedures, and strategic internal projects as the organization continues its upward trajectory.
Financial Reporting: Provide essential support during the month-end closing cycle to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Payroll & Compliance: Take ownership of payroll administration and employee benefit programs, including the preparation of EHT, ROEs, T4s, T4As, and T2200s.
Taxation: Accurately prepare and execute HST return filings in accordance with regulatory timelines.
Accounts Payable: Facilitate the end-to-end vendor invoice process and coordinate the weekly disbursement of payments.
Special Projects: Contribute to ad-hoc accounting initiatives and business process improvements as required by the leadership team.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance-focused role.
Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and modern ERP environments.
Communication: Highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization.
Operational Mindset: A proven track record of meeting strict deadlines while managing multiple competing priorities in a high-energy setting.
Problem Solving: A results-oriented approach to challenges and a commitment to accuracy.
Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
