Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to spearhead growth within their Commercial and Industrial divisions.
This is a pivotal role for a hunter-prospector who excels at building collaborative internal partnerships and securing high-value contracts that align with long-term profitability goals. You will serve as the primary commercial face of the organization, bridging the gap between innovative manufacturing capabilities and evolving market demands.
The Role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for the full sales lifecycle—from identifying emerging industry trends to final contract execution. Your primary mission is to expand the company’s footprint by securing new business that complements its sophisticated technical offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth: Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the commercial and industrial segments to meet aggressive expansion targets.
- Account Leadership: Act as the central point of contact for assigned accounts, managing all commercial interactions and resolving complex client issues with professionalism.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring technological advancements and industry shifts to identify new product applications and target markets.
- Internal Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Development, Operations, and Program Management teams to ensure that proposed solutions are technically viable and meet client specifications.
- Sales Excellence: Maintain rigorous data integrity within the HubSpot CRM system, participating in regular growth reviews to report on pipeline progress and activity.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead the negotiation of terms and agreements to maximize profit margins while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Industry Presence: Represent the organization at key trade shows and conduct on-site client visits to strengthen relationships and increase market visibility.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering (Automotive focus preferred), or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years of proven success in business development, specifically within the Commercial or Industrial market sectors.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience within a plastic injection molding environment is highly advantageous.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to convert prospects into long-term, profitable customers through a structured sales process.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional presentation and written communication skills, with a particular talent for negotiating complex commercial terms.
- Project Management: The ability to juggle multiple high-priority accounts and internal projects simultaneously without losing focus on results.
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in CRM software (HubSpot preferred) and a proactive approach to utilizing modern sales tools.
