In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and daily operations, overseeing the development of customized insurance solutions for mid-market clients while mentoring a high-performing underwriting team.
Strategic Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and invest in the professional growth of underwriters to ensure career progression and high performance.
Portfolio Management: Oversee the evaluation, selection, and negotiation of policies, ensuring pricing and documentation meet rigorous standards.
Broker Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for an extensive broker network, fostering responsive partnerships through regular engagement.
Operational Excellence: Manage daily departmental functions and lead change management initiatives to improve workflow efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Actuarial and Claims departments to refine risk assessment and service delivery.
Industry Expertise: 10+ years of experience in commercial underwriting.
Proven Leadership: Minimum of 3 years in a management or leadership capacity.
Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of sales, negotiation, and risk evaluation.
Professional Designations: Completion of (or active pursuit of) CIP, FCIP, or RPLU credentials.
Change Management: Demonstrated experience leading teams through organizational shifts or process improvements.
Communication: Exceptional customer service skills and a proactive approach to broker engagement.

Salary Range: $117,000 – $162,000 (commensurate with experience).
