Job Description

Leap Recruitment Partners is proud to represent a premier leader in the Canadian insurance services and claims management sector. On behalf of our valued client, we are seeking an experienced Multi-Line Claims Adjuster to join their dedicated team in British Columbia.

This is a dynamic field-based role focusing on the Lower Mainland, catering to a diverse portfolio of both personal and commercial property claims. If you are a licensed professional with a knack for technical investigation and a commitment to exceptional policyholder service, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As a Multi-Line Claims Adjuster, you will serve as the primary point of contact for complex property loss events. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of a claim—from the initial site visit and investigation to the final settlement negotiation. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, empathy, and a proactive approach to managing various lines of insurance coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Claims Management: Direct the adjustment of personal and commercial property claims, including high-value large loss files, from inception to closure.

  • On-Site Investigation: Travel throughout the Lower Mainland to perform site inspections, interview relevant parties, and document the scope of damages accurately.

  • Coverage Analysis: Interpret complex policy wordings to determine liability and the extent of coverage.

  • Expert Collaboration: Partner with external professionals, including engineers, restoration contractors, and forensic experts, to validate loss details.

  • Negotiation & Settlement: Facilitate fair and equitable resolutions with policyholders through professional negotiation.

  • Technical Documentation: Produce high-quality reports and legal correspondence, including Proof of Loss, Reservation of Rights, and Critical Path letters.

  • Financial Integrity: Ensure data accuracy within claims systems and manage the timely issuance of payments to vendors and insured parties.

  • Risk Identification: Proactively identify opportunities for subrogation and detect potential indicators of fraudulent activity or questionable claims.

Qualifications

  • Licensing: Must hold a valid Independent Adjuster’s License for the province of British Columbia.

  • Education: Completion of, or active enrollment in, the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.

  • Industry Expertise: Proven experience in property and casualty insurance, specifically handling multi-line exposures.

  • Field Experience: Prior experience conducting field adjustments and physical site inspections is highly preferred.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with the confidence to deliver expert advice to policyholders during stressful situations.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of current case law, industry regulations, and best practices in the BC insurance market.

Compensation & Benefits

Our client offers a highly competitive professional package designed to reward expertise, including:

  • Competitive base salary.

  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits.

  • Company pension plan.

  • Generous vacation allotment.
