Position: Senior Systems Developer - Guidewire
Location: [Calgary, Saskatchewan, Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington and Guelph] | Flexible/Hybrid Work Options Available

They are seeking a Senior Systems Developer to act as a driving force on their team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and implementing robust system solutions. You will lead complex initiatives, mentor junior developers, and play a key role in their continuous improvement journey.
Solution Design & Development:
Lead the planning process to evaluate technologies and design cohesive, effective solutions for complex business needs.
Develop new code and leverage existing code to implement system features of medium to large complexity.
Create detailed implementation and troubleshooting plans for critical systems.
Technical Leadership & Quality Assurance:
Identify, recommend, and implement solutions for application defects; perform root cause analysis to prevent future issues.
Lead system development project teams for small to medium-sized initiatives.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior team members.
Perform rigorous unit testing and manage project management activities to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
System Integration & Maintenance:
Design and maintain integrations between Guidewire and external systems using web services, REST APIs, and message queues.
Develop and maintain code, and document processes to ensure consistency and enable continuous improvement.
Must-Have Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development within an Information Technology environment.
Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Proven, hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and/or ClaimCenter, including:
Configuration and development using Gosu.
Building and customizing UI and workflows.
Working with Guidewire Studio/IntelliJ and TeamCity.
Strong understanding of Guidewire architecture, internal components, and experience with tools, accelerators, batch processing, and plugins.
Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Java design principles, and unit testing with JUnit.
Experience with web technologies such as XML, and integrating systems via REST APIs and message queues.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Git, Jenkins, and Confluence.
Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is essential for this role.
Nice-to-Have Assets:
Guidewire Associate Developer or higher certification is a strong asset.
