About the Opportunity
This role is with a leading Commercial Insurance Brokerage, distinguished by its focus on specialized commercial programs, integrity, and operational excellence. You will join the Commercial Programs team, serving as the pivotal client-facing service and technical resource that drives retention and client satisfaction within a dedicated book of association business.
Your work involves applying superior technical expertise and attention to detail across the entire policy lifecycle—from proactive renewal management and complex processing to premium collection and compliance. You act as the trusted operational liaison for sophisticated clients and association partners, ensuring timely, accurate, and tailored insurance solutions that protect their assets and organizations.
Why This Role is a Great Fit for You
If you are a licensed professional who combines technical mastery with strong client service intuition, this position offers a profound opportunity to be the operational backbone of a high-value, specialized book of business.
● You will focus your expertise on client retention, efficient processing, and proactive service delivery without the primary pressure of a new business sales quota.
● You will gain continuous, deep expertise in managing association program documentation, interpreting policy details, and ensuring seamless compliance.
● This is the perfect role for the expert who thrives on managing high-volume client calls during critical periods and enjoys translating technical compliance into client peace of mind.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your mission is to maintain exceptional service and technical integrity across the customer lifecycle:
● Book & Relationship Management: Serve as the primary service contact for assigned commercial accounts within the programs division, promptly responding to a high volume of inquiries regarding coverage, documentation, and claims status, with an aim for same-day response.
● Program Documentation & Processing: Proactively manage account documentation, including quotes, binders, statements of values, insurance contracts, complex endorsements, and cancellations. Ensure accurate policy documents are uploaded within carrier/internal portals.
● Compliance & Premium Collection: Rigidly ensure that premium, with all applicable taxes and fees, is collected prior to binding, efficiently utilizing various collection methods (credit card site, cheque, email transfer, CAFO, etc.).
● Risk Analysis & Coverage Review: Review clients’ current coverage, exposures, and loss experience to analyze risk and determine the appropriate product/service requirements. Bind coverages, calculate premiums, and issue certificates of insurance.
● Producer Collaboration: Work closely with Producers and other staff on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewal strategy, adhering to best practices and standard operating procedures.
What You Bring
● Experience: Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience is required.
● Licensing: Current R.I.B.O. license (or equivalent provincial broker license) is required.
● Education & Designation: A University degree is preferred. Working toward or completed an industry designation (e.g., C.I.P. or C.A.I.B.) is desired.
● Technical Acumen: Demonstrated proficiency with industry Broker/Agency Management Systems, specifically EPIC (or similar), and strong skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
● Mindset: Superb interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Must be a highly organized, process-driven self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills, and the proven ability to thrive in a high-volume service environment.
● Commitment: Integrity, sound ethical standards, and a commercial savvy that supports the success of our clients, carrier partners, and the firm.
Why Join
● Career Advancement: Solidify a specialized career path as a trusted advisor in commercial program management.
● Impact: Directly influence client retention and satisfaction, serving as an indispensable technical expert on a high-performing team.
● Expertise: Continuously strengthen critical skills in program management, high-volume service delivery, and compliance processing.
