Job Description

Role Summary

As a Director, Risk Services Commercial Solutions, you will be responsible for assisting in defining and implementing the strategic direction of Risk Services from a regional and national perspective. The Director manages and ensures the appropriate provision of Risk Services advisory, consulting, training, and education services in the Western Region while overseeing the operational day-to-day functions of the department and staff.

The objective of this position is to improve the organization’s Commercial Solutions capabilities for underwriting risk selection and client safety solutions, ensuring the company is positioned as an industry leader in client experience and safety.

In this role, you will provide recommendations and input to National Risk Services, direct all activities to ensure the department is operating at maximum efficiency, and provide daily leadership, coaching, and mentoring to your direct reports.

Your Talent and Skills

If you are great at:

  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessment strategies across diverse portfolios, from small businesses to complex mid-market clients.

  • Providing effective daily leadership, coaching, mentoring, and motivation of staff.

  • Developing and maintaining professional relationships with brokers and clients.

  • Understanding and applying best business practices toward advanced risk management techniques.

And you have:

  • Education: Post-secondary education in Insurance Management or a related field.

  • Designations: Progressing towards or completion of CDS, CIP, or CRM designations.

  • Industry Experience: 15 years of experience within the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance industry (or related field).

  • Technical Knowledge: Property, Casualty, and/or Commercial Auto experience.

  • Leadership: Proven experience in people leadership.

  • Requirements: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
