Job Description

Position: PolicyCenter Business Analyst

Certifications:

  • Must be Guidewire Policy Center Certified.

  • ACE Certification is preferred.

Location & Work Arrangement:

  • Must be able to work on-site from the Markham office (10 Aviva Way, Suite 100) a minimum of three days per week.

  • This on-site requirement is subject to change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key member of the project team, contributing to planning and execution from ideation to completion.

  • Collaborate on planning, prioritization, and design of projects.

  • Understand and ensure the project team remains focused on solving the core business problem.

  • Work with the project team to define and manage project scope.

  • Document business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Create, monitor, and constantly review sprint plans to identify optimization opportunities.

  • Organize and lead working sessions and project update meetings across various organizational levels.

  • Work closely with both business and technical team members to support project deliverables.

  • Identify project issues/roadblocks and develop steps for mitigation and resolution.

  • Provide feedback and recommendations on project and process improvements.

  • Drive results by identifying opportunities to optimize work, remove roadblocks, and focus on outcomes that exceed stakeholder expectations and add business value.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst working on Scrum teams.

  • Must be Guidewire Policy Center Certified.

  • Scrum Master experience.

  • 3+ years’ experience in personal insurance.

  • Exceptional critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent planning, organization, and superior communication skills.

  • Process-oriented with strong time management and prioritization skills.

  • Must be a team-player, team builder, and a driver; a self-starter able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACE Certification.

  • CIP designation or strong insurance knowledge.

  • Experience working on Conversion Projects.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours when necessary to support critical project needs and deliverables.

  • Must be customer/business-focused, results-oriented, and have strong stakeholder management skills.
