Job Title: Equipment Breakdown Underwriter

Role Overview
As an Equipment Breakdown Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting equipment breakdown policies, assessing risk, and providing tailored coverage solutions to businesses across various industries. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of machinery and equipment, as well as experience in evaluating and pricing complex risks. This role requires an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, brokers, and internal teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Underwrite equipment breakdown insurance policies by assessing risk, pricing coverage, and determining appropriate terms and conditions.

  • Analyze technical specifications and maintenance records of clients to evaluate the risk.

  • Work closely with brokers and clients to gather relevant information and address policy-related inquiries.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized coverage solutions for clients.

  • Monitor and manage the performance of existing policies, making adjustments as necessary.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to machinery breakdown insurance.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, engineering, business, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in machinery breakdown underwriting or a similar role within the insurance industry.

  • Strong understanding of machinery and equipment, including their operation, maintenance, and failure modes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and brokers.

  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
