About The Role:
The company is looking for a results-driven, relationship-oriented Vice President, Mid-Market Commercial Lines Sales to accelerate our growth across Ontario’s diverse commercial landscape. This is a strategic sales leadership role for an experienced insurance professional who thrives in business development and is passionate about helping mid-sized organizations manage risk and protect their operations.
As a senior producer, you’ll focus on acquiring and expanding mid-market accounts across sectors such as construction, professional services, retail, light manufacturing, transportation, and more. You’ll work alongside
an established team of account executives, underwriters, and practice leaders to deliver customized insurance and risk management solutions that align with clients’ evolving business need.
What You’ll Do
Growth; Business Development
Drive new business by prospecting and closing commercial accounts with annual premiums in the mid-market range.
Leverage your network and market insight to identify and pursue opportunities across key Ontario industries.
Build and manage a strong pipeline, with a disciplined focus on multi-line solutions including property; casualty, liability, business interruption, cyber, auto/fleet, and specialty coverage.
Collaborate with internal company's colleagues across Ontario to maximize cross-selling opportunities and deepen client relationships. Client Relationship Management
Serve as a trusted advisor to mid-sized business clients, helping them navigate evolving risks and tailor insurance programs accordingly.
Lead renewal strategies, coverage reviews, and risk consultations in partnership with service and technical teams.
Stay attuned to industry trends, emerging exposures, and regulatory developments to proactively guide clients
Actively contribute to the company's Ontario’s commercial lines growth strategy by sharing market intelligence and identifying underserved sectors or niches.
Partner with insurance carriers and underwriters to structure competitive, creative solutions that meet the unique needs of mid-sized businesses.
Support the company's thought leadership and marketing efforts by contributing to webinars, articles, and regional business events
Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success
7–10+ years of commercial insurance experience, with a strong focus on new business development
and relationship management.
RIBO license or ability to obtain quickly
Proven success building a profitable mid-market book of business within Ontario’s commercial sector.
Strong understanding of commercial P&C coverages and underwriting principles across diverse industries.
Established market presence and network of referral partners.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and commitment to collaboration.
CIP, CAIB, or CRM designations are preferred.
