Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of legal documents and correspondence related to insurance defense, Accident Benefits, and Tort claims.
- Manage and organize case files to ensure timely responses to all legal matters.
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
- Maintain calendars and track deadlines for case milestones and legal proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and compile data from various legal resources.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals to gather and relay case-related information.
- Prepare and submit legal documents to courts and other agencies.
- Review and manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and faxes.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of recent experience as a legal assistant, specifically in insurance defense, Accident Benefits, and Tort.
- Proficient in legal document preparation and court filing procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Post-secondary education in legal studies or a related field is preferred.
