Position Overview:
As a Senior Marketer, you will work closely with the Director of Commercial Brokering to drive growth within the commercial insurance division. Your expertise will help secure new business opportunities by facilitating the placement of complex risks with key insurance partners. This role requires maintaining high service standards, fostering collaboration among teams, and contributing to the company’s organic growth strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the acquisition of new business accounts by providing comparative quotes, reviewing coverage, negotiating terms, developing proposals, and issuing binding instructions.
  • Cultivate strong, effective relationships with producers, insurance carriers, and internal teams to support a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Utilize technology platforms, including company portals, EPIC, Templafy, and other tools, ensuring optimal use for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems and platforms.
  • Support producers and Account Managers in remarketing and handling escalations by providing tailored solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, including carrier appetites, underwriting changes, restrictions, and commission structures for standard and non-standard markets.
  • Align your work to support the company’s growth objectives, focusing on achieving new business targets and delivering exceptional service.
  • Prepare RFPs, Proposals, and Binders to assist brokers, Account Executives, and Account Managers.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced Account Executives in risk assessment and underwriting processes.
  • Use insurance carrier portals proficiently for quoting and placement activities.
  • Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • RIBO license with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial insurance.
  • Actively pursuing professional designations such as CAIB, CIP, or CRM.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an exceptional eye for detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of insurance carrier appetites and underwriting practices.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, capable of multitasking and managing priorities effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency with tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PDF, and broker management systems like EPIC.
