Job Description

Our client is a leading Canadian insurer for over 90 years and they are looking for a Head of Claims to come join their team for a 12 month contract with opportunity to go permanent.

Type of Role: 12 Contract , opportunity to go perm
Location: DT Toronto, 3 days onsite, Hybrid 


Summary of Role: 

The individual coming into this role is going to oversee a team of 30 people and support with the claims audit program and being the leader for change transformation and making the claims process more efficient.

Responsibilities:

 An ability to analyze data to make decisions/recommendations, manage day to day claims
operations, drive strategy and continuous improvement
 Responsible for overall Claims Operations by planning, forecasting, preparing annual budget,
analyzing, and recommending information and trends for executive level decision making
 Lead the technological and process transformation of the claims department to drive scale,
accuracy, and efficiency.
 Proactively work to get familiar with the claims processing details to enable the ability to
drive the required changes and transformation
 Create strategic plans for Claims Operations by establishing functional objectives, analyzing
market trends, identifying new strategic initiatives, and aligning with business unit specific
strategies
 Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards, monitor
results and drive continuous improvement
 Accomplish organizational strategic objectives by developing, tracking, measuring and
evaluating results; identifying needs and trends, and recommending solutions
 Provide Claims Operations leadership on the Business Councils, Operations Councils and
Governance Groups

Qualifications:

 Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims and Customer Service
area and
 Effective verbal and written communication – articulate and empathetic
 Critical thinking
 Analyze data

 Strong attention to detail

 Time management
 Team focused
 High levels of problem solving and decision making
