Our client is a leading Canadian insurer for over 90 years and they are looking for a Head of Claims to come join their team for a 12 month contract with opportunity to go permanent.

Location: DT Toronto, 3 days onsite, Hybrid
Summary of Role:
The individual coming into this role is going to oversee a team of 30 people and support with the claims audit program and being the leader for change transformation and making the claims process more efficient.
Responsibilities:
An ability to analyze data to make decisions/recommendations, manage day to day claims
operations, drive strategy and continuous improvement
Responsible for overall Claims Operations by planning, forecasting, preparing annual budget,
analyzing, and recommending information and trends for executive level decision making
Lead the technological and process transformation of the claims department to drive scale,
accuracy, and efficiency.
Proactively work to get familiar with the claims processing details to enable the ability to
drive the required changes and transformation
Create strategic plans for Claims Operations by establishing functional objectives, analyzing
market trends, identifying new strategic initiatives, and aligning with business unit specific
strategies
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards, monitor
results and drive continuous improvement
Accomplish organizational strategic objectives by developing, tracking, measuring and
evaluating results; identifying needs and trends, and recommending solutions
Provide Claims Operations leadership on the Business Councils, Operations Councils and
Governance Groups
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Claims and Customer Service
area and
Effective verbal and written communication – articulate and empathetic
