Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct field activities, including gathering evidence, taking statements, preparing diagrams, and taking photographs.
- Prepare clear, concise, and timely reports for clients in their preferred format.
- Communicate with clients as necessary to ensure assignments are completed accurately and their needs are met.
- Analyze and evaluate special damages such as property estimates, personal property inventories, medical bills, lost wage statements, and medical reports.
- Prepare estimates, inventories, and summaries of special damages as required.
- Negotiate and settle claims effectively.
- Evaluate insurance coverage issues on specific claims and provide recommendations to clients.
- Participate in marketing activities as needed.
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by the Branch Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
- 1 to 5 years of experience in property and casualty claims adjusting.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem analysis, planning, and organizational skills.
Location and Equipment
- Environment: Both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Equipment: Ability to drive a car, operate a digital camera or smartphone for taking photos, use a calculator, and operate a digital recorder.
Contact with Others
- Internal: Interaction with the Branch Manager, other adjusters, and clerical staff.
- External: Interaction with clients, policyholders, claimants, tradespeople, and attorneys.
