We're on the lookout for a talented individual to join our team as a Commercial Underwriter. In this role, you'll be entrusted with assessing risks, leveraging your experience to make sound underwriting decisions. Your communication skills will play an essential role to engage with the various stakeholders, providing them with the required support and cultivating fostering relationships. • Shift: Monday-Friday, 9AM – 5PM
• Location: On-Site, Vancouver
• Role Type: Permanent

Responsibilities

• Underwriting specialty commercial lines risks within the level of authority based on the level of experience.
• Answering inquiries and providing support to the internal team and the customers while building and cultivating fostering relationships.
• Preparing underwriting instructions for processing on renewals, endorsements, cancellations and new business.
• Achieve the assigned targets and meet the required key performance indicators to maintain service standards.
• Promote the organizations internal culture, values and contribute in solidifying the brand value
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

• Underwriting casualty accounts (GL, E&O, D&O) within your level of authority based on your level of experience.
• Strong professional communication, both written and verbal.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong computer skills including high proficiency with MS office.
• Able to work effectively under pressure and deliver on deadlines and service standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Aptitude to adapt to changes in the workplace positively.
• Successful completion of a criminal record check.
