Senior Financial Business Analyst 

Our client, one of Canada’s most successful law firms, is currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Business Analyst to join their team in the heart of Toronto. With a commitment to excellent customer service, analysis and financial acumen, they are looking for an experience candidate to join their organization. 

 

Location: Toronto, Ontario. Hybrid: 2 days onsite

Shift: Monday to Friday

Summary: Full time, Permanent.


Under the supervision of the Manager of Financial Analysis, this position will be responsible for gathering, organizing, and analyzing the financial performance and related data of the firm. The objective is to provide decision-making support throughout the partnership, aiming to enhance overall results.


As a Senior Financial Business Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the prompt and concise collection, preparation and analysis of data for financial reporting purposes. 
  • Analyzing and deciphering extensive dataset from in-house financial systems to streamline the processes of financial reporting. 
  • Crafting financial models and conducting forecasts to evaluate and report on performance metrics.
  • Monitor and examine financial outcomes to detect patterns and provide insights to management with actionable next steps. 
  • Drafting reports and presentations that summarize financial performance and offer strategic insights to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Tracking and evaluating the industry performance and benchmark data on a month to month basis.
  • Maintaining reports for stakeholders.
  • Any additional ad-hoc duties upon request. 

Qualifications: 

  • CPA designation is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance, commerce, accounting or related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in an analytical role.
  • Prior experience in the finance department of a service-oriented company with exposure to financial analysis is an asset.
  • High level of professionalism, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Well experienced with SQL query tools and Business Intelligence applications (ie. Power BI).
