Life Insurance Assistant

Employment Status: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Vaughan (4 Days In-Office)

Our client is one of Ontario’s largest, independently owned brokerages that specializes in insurance and bonding solutions for the construction and development industries. They are a rapidly growing company with an enduring passion for supporting businesses, and communities, they also offer personal and commercial insurance, group benefits and financial planning services.

Position Summary:
The Life Insurance Assistant will provide administrative support to a dynamic team of Life Insurance Advisors, handling a very active book of business. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Insurance Documentation:
    • Prepare carrier illustrations, proposals, and applications for clients.
    • Place orders for necessary policy underwriting requirements.
    • Submit life, disability, and critical illness insurance applications to companies.
  • Case Management:
    • Proactively follow up on pending cases, ensuring service standards are met.
    • Ensure timely and compliant policy issuance and settlement processing.
    • Provide ongoing updates to Advisors on policy cases.
  • Client Communication:
    • Respond to client calls and address queries on coverage and billing.
    • Resolve issues related to client premiums, account reconciliation, and other concerns.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain and update the filing system, ensuring proper documentation.
    • Log existing and terminated client files.
    • Perform general administrative tasks like printing, photocopying, and scanning.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of administrative experience in the life insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of life insurance terminology and products.
  • Experience with insurance carriers' products, software, and websites.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Life License (LLQP) or willingness to obtain within 1 year of continuous employment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Post-Secondary education is preferred.
