LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Systems Engineer for a remote contract-to-hire opportunity with our opinion research client in Chicago, IL. This role is ideal for an experienced systems engineer who enjoys automation, infrastructure management, and supporting enterprise Linux environments across both on-premises and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support and administer enterprise Windows infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and related technologies
• Support Citrix environments, remote access solutions, virtual desktops, and application delivery platforms
• Manage user onboarding, access provisioning, identity administration, and account lifecycle activities
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, and support day-to-day production operations
• Perform system patching, upgrades, maintenance, and operational readiness activities
• Assist with security administration, vulnerability remediation, compliance initiatives, and audit activities
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and business teams to improve platform reliability and user experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of systems administration or systems engineering experience in an enterprise production environment
• Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy
• Experience administering DNS, DHCP, file services, and related Microsoft infrastructure technologies
• Experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps, Virtual Desktops, VDI, or similar remote access platforms
• Experience with identity and access management, user provisioning, and security administration
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across Windows infrastructure and end-user technologies
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and operational automation preferred
• Experience supporting systems within regulated, secure, or compliance-driven environments preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, or cloud-based identity services preferred
• Knowledge of security frameworks, audit controls, vulnerability management, or compliance standards preferred
• U.S. Citizenship required
