Job Description
We are urgently seeking an Edmonton-based Structural Engineer who will be a remote member of the structural engineering team reporting directly to our client's Structural Forensics' Practice Lead. This Structural Engineer is responsible for conducting field investigations and inspections of structurally damaged buildings and structures and preparation of field notes, sketches, photos for evidence and site documentation. The Structural Engineer is also responsible for conducting general field reviews of constuction to ensure conformance to designs and specifications. This position is also responsible for preparing technical reports and scopes of repair for damaged buildings and structures, including developing and drafting engineering drawings and plans for required structural repairs. Further, this position requires preparation of drawings and preliminary structural design and analysis for new construction and renovation projects.
This role has a technical, field-based, communication and managerial bend and is ideal for those seeking professional adventure who can visit remote sites in Alberta and BC at a moment's notice.
Qualifications Required:
Graduate of a four-year post-secondary Civil/Structural Engineering Program or equivalent.
Minimum five years of experience in engineering design and construction.
Current P.Eng registration with APEGA in good standing.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Working knowledge and experience in AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
Strong working knowledge and experience with the AB Building Code and CSA standards (particularly CSA O86 Engineering design in Wood).
Strong Working Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong command of the English language.
