Job Description

Electrical Engineering Technician

Join our client's team as an Electrical Engineering Technician! You'll tackle customer electrical service issues, manage warranty concerns, and support internal projects. This role involves coordinating with vendors, departments, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine programming and electrical system issues
  • Serve as the main contact for electrical service calls
  • Provide backup electrical support for projects
  • Strong familiarity of electrical component control programs (PLC, HMI, motion, and message display)
  • Assist with non-electrical customer service calls when needed
  • Read electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring
  • Maintain technical and operational documentation
  • Conduct on-site visits and remote support sessions
  • Improve efficiency by standardizing procedures
  • Build positive customer relationships
  • Track support calls using CRM (Salesforce)
  • Develop and update SOPs and technical documentation
  • Train customers and staff on electrical systems
  • Maintain virtual PCs for service PCs

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of high-speed machine setup and operation
  • Proficiency in PLC and motion control software (RSLogix 5000, Siemens TIA Step 7)
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills
  • Experience with networking and communication hardware
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use hand tools and electronic measuring devices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and ability to adapt to other company software (i.e. Salesforce/Epicore)

Preferred Skills:

  • 1-2 years of PLC and HMI programming experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
  • Familiarity with Eplan, AutoCAD

Hours: 
Monday through Friday. 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. based on departmental needs. Travel may be required. (Can be flexible).
