Job Description

Our client located in Menomonee Falls, WI are adding a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to their growing team where you will play a pivotal role in advancing the development of state-of-the-art processing equipment. You will help lead the design process from concept to creation, ensuring precision and innovation in every blueprint and supporting successful manufacturing outcomes. This is a full time permanent placement position where you can enjoy 3-4 days in office, and 1-2 days remote.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Innovative Design Leadership: Lead the conceptualization and development of advanced food processing equipment. Utilize Autodesk Inventor for high-fidelity 3D and 2D designs, pushing the boundaries of innovation in food technology.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Guide and mentor engineering staff and junior engineers, ensuring projects are executed with precision and efficiency while meeting deadlines. Foster professional growth and development within the team.
  • Technology Integration: Stay at the forefront of technological advancements in food processing equipment design. Incorporate cutting-edge solutions to enhance design efficiency and product functionality.
  • Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance: Implement stringent quality control measures and adhere to regulatory standards, including CE and OSHA, ensuring all designs meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy. This includes stress and thermodynamic best practices.
  • Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that design specifications are seamlessly integrated into manufacturing processes. Produce detailed documentation to facilitate clear communication and effective project execution.
  • CAD Proficiency and PDM Systems: Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for both 2D and 3D modeling. Lead the implementation of Product Data Management (PDM) systems to enhance design collaboration and document management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Must have Conveyor or Capital Goods Equipment experience.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of design experience.
  • Must have Project Management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling, emphasis on Autodesk Inventor or other CAD software experience.
  • Experience with rev control and PDM system administration.
  • Familiarity with CE and OSHA guidelines nice to have but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with effective team collaboration skills.
