Responsibilities of a mechanical engineer may include:
1. Design and develop: Use computer-aided design (CAD) to design or redesign mechanical devices, subsystems, and processes
2. Analyze and troubleshoot: Analyze problems to determine how mechanical devices can help solve them. Investigate equipment failures and recommend remedies
3. Test and evaluate: Develop and test prototypes, analyze test results, and make design changes as needed
4. Oversee manufacturing: Oversee the manufacturing process for devices
4. Manage projects: Manage project teams of technicians, designers, and other engineers
5. Ensure safety: Assess the safety of mechanical machinery and equipment
6. Write reports: Write reports and out documentation
7. Provide technical advice: Provide technical advice and analyze and interpret data
