Our client, a reputable Toronto law firm, is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong commercial real estate experience and a client-service-focused approach.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and complete commercial real estate purchase and mortgage files;
- Handle commercial purchases, sales, mortgages, refinancing and lending matters;
- Conduct title and off-title searches;
- Draft and coordinate documents required for closing;
- Prepare internal and external correspondence;
- Assist with special projects as required; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Law Clerk Diploma;
- Minimum of 5 years of related commercial real estate experience;
- Strong technical proficiency with Conveyancer, Microsoft Word and Outlook;
- Familiarity with document management systems is considered an asset;
- Excellent organizational, time-management and multitasking skills;
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight internal and external deadlines;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail;
- Strong research, investigative and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and handle highly confidential information with discretion;
- Proactive, resourceful and committed to providing excellent client service;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team;
- Willingness to learn the firms workflows and internal processes;
- Receptive to constructive feedback; and
- Flexibility to work additional hours during busy periods, as required.
