Our client, a respected and growing law firm, is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistant to join its busy and collaborative team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with strong commercial real estate experience who enjoys managing sophisticated transactions and providing exceptional client service in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise agreements of purchase and sale, leases, financing, and closing documents;
- Manage transaction files from opening to closing, including due diligence and document organization;
- Coordinate title and off-title searches and review search results;
- Prepare closing documentation and assist with transaction closings;
- Liaise with clients, lenders, and third parties;
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and correspondence;
- Perform general administrative duties, including scanning and electronic filing.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma/certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution;
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a commercial real estate environment;
- Strong understanding of legal procedures, documentation, and file management within a commercial real estate practice;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams);
- Experience working with PDF software, DocuSign, and a document management system such as iManage;
- Experience using Teraview and Workshare Compare;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to exceptional client service;
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Confident self-starter who works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team;
- Sound judgment, discretion, and a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
