Our client, a well-established law firm in Toronto, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Condominium Law Clerk to join their team. This role supports lawyers handling condominium closings, status certificates, and general condominium governance matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a law clerk with strong administrative and technical skills who can effectively manage deadlines and contribute to a busy real estate practice.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Open and organize new condominium files in accordance with firm procedures
- Conduct title subsearches, off-title inquiries, and obtain relevant property documents
- Prepare and file Form 4 (Notice of Change – Condominium Corporation) and other required forms under the Condominium Act, 1998
- Draft, format, and edit legal documents including:
- Status Certificates
- Disclosure packages
- By-laws, rules, and declarations
- Agreements related to condominium development
- Assist with condominium closings, post-registration work, and filing of amendments
- Liaise with clients, property managers, developers, municipalities, and the Land Registry Office
- Register and retrieve documents using Teraview
- Prepare reporting letters to clients following closings
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical filing systems
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and monitor deadlines
- Draft professional correspondence including emails, letters, and telephone communications
Requirements:
- Law Clerk diploma or equivalent experience in a legal environment
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in condominium or real estate law within Ontario
- Strong experience with file management, title searches, and document organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
