Salary: $55,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience

Our client, a Toronto-based litigation boutique focused on complex commercial disputes, with a strong emphasis on insurance defence and professional liability. They also handle construction, health law, and regulatory matters, often acting for insurers, financial institutions, and professionals. The firm is known for defence-side litigation with a crossover into coverage and regulated industry work.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and coordinate service and filing of court documents including pleadings, affidavits, motions, and notices in accordance with court rules
- Manage key dates and maintain lawyers’ calendars
- Provide administrative support including photocopying, document management, and file organization in accordance with firm standards
- Upload and download documents from online sources and data rooms
- Maintain knowledge of Superior Court procedures, and familiarity with filing protocols
- Assist with file opening, closing, docketing, and billing as required
- Support general office tasks and assist with special projects
Requirements:
- Completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in litigation
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Office 365), Windows 11, and Adobe Pro
- Excellent word processing, proofreading, and editing skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Professional communication skills and a team-oriented approach
