Our client, a reputable Toronto law firm, is seeking a Junior Litigation Assistant to join their team. This firm offers a positive workplace culture and strong career development opportunities. They are a leading regional law firm specializing in Corporate, Employment, and Commercial Litigation, committed to delivering innovative and practical legal solutions. Their office is conveniently located in Downtown Toronto.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide legal administrative support for litigation matters
- Schedule meetings, conferences, and appointments
- Draft and edit correspondence and legal documents from precedents and dictation
- Manage lawyers’ calendars and dockets
- Assist with preparation for hearings and trials
- Liaise with Billing Coordinators for monthly billing
- Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, and court appearances
- Maintain bring-forward system and electronic filing system
- Communicate with courts and clients
- Manage files from opening to closing
- Perform additional administrative tasks as required
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting legal professionals in a corporate environment
- Law Clerk Diploma from an accredited institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet urgent deadlines
