Client Profile
Our client, a well-established Toronto law firm, is seeking an experienced Insurance Defence Law Clerk to join their litigation team. The firm is recognized for delivering high-quality legal services and offers a collaborative environment with strong support for professional growth.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, affidavits, and other litigation documents
- Prepare motion records, discovery briefs, and trial materials
- Summarize and analyze medical and expert documentation
- Manage productions and organize documents for discovery and trial
- Request and follow up on undertakings
- Assist with trial preparation, including compiling briefs and exhibits
- Maintain and manage electronic document databases for litigation matters
- Liaise with clients, insurance adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel regarding file progression
- Review and analyze file materials to support case strategy
Requirements
- Law Clerk diploma
- 5+ years of experience as an Insurance Defence Law Clerk
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience with document management and e-discovery tools
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
