Our client, a well-established law firm recognized for its work in the charity and not-for-profit sector, is seeking a Junior Corporate Clerk for its Orangeville office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing complex files, preparing legal documentation, and supporting a busy legal practice. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative environment while gaining experience in a unique and meaningful area of law.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Organize, prioritize, and manage daily and ongoing workloads.
- Prepare and submit applications and supporting materials through the CRA online portal while tracking filing status.
- Draft correspondence, agreements, resolutions, minute book documents, government filings, by-laws, and other related materials.
- Review incoming correspondence, identify time-sensitive matters, and coordinate with the supervising lawyer.
- Maintain and update the lawyer’s calendar, proactively scheduling appointments, deadlines, and key events.
- Input and manage all file information within the firm’s document management system.
- Communicate with prospective clients and coordinate initial meetings with the appropriate lawyer.
- Perform additional administrative and legal support tasks as required.
Requirements
- Law Clerk certificate or diploma.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in corporate or commercial law.
- Strong drafting and word processing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience working with charity or not-for-profit clients.
- Familiarity with Soluno or similar practice management software.
