About the Role
Our client, a respected law firm with a strong Education and Administrative Law practice, is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to support two Partners handling a diverse range of matters in these areas. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, professional environment while providing critical administrative and legal support. Candidates with prior exposure to education law, administrative law, real estate law or similar practice areas will be strongly preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, draft, and format legal documents and correspondence
- Handle client intake, communication, and ongoing support
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate deadlines
- Maintain and organize physical and digital files
- Perform e-filing with courts, tribunals, or administrative bodies
- Assist with billing, time entry, and invoicing
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed
- Provide general office administration and front-line support
- Utilize legal software and technology tools effectively (NetDocs / PC Law experience considered an asset)
Requirements
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma required
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, ideally within Education, Administrative, Litigation, Real Estate, or related practice areas
- Strong skills in legal document preparation and file management
- Proficiency with calendaring, scheduling, and deadline tracking
- Experience with e-filing systems and legal administrative processes
- Strong billing and invoicing capabilities
- Solid research and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and client-service abilities
- Tech-savvy; familiarity with NetDocs and PC Law is a plus
- Ability to manage competing priorities and support multiple lawyers simultaneously
