Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team. In this role, you will contribute to the firm’s financial operations, working closely with senior leadership to ensure accuracy in reporting, compliance with regulations, and the delivery of actionable insights that support strategic objectives. Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for the firm’s Trust and General bank accounts and lead month-end journal entries across multiple entities.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany, fixed assets, and prepaid schedules.
- Maintain accurate timekeeper setups and billing rates within e-billing platforms and accounting systems.
- Support annual audit preparation by assisting with analyses, working papers, and compliance with trust account regulations.
- Assist with annual budget preparation, profitability analyses, cash flow trend analysis, and month-end variance reporting.
- Maintain key financial reports, including collections, partner capital schedules, and expense analyses.
- Conduct monthly departmental profitability analyses and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Collaborate with HR on RRSP uploads and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or CFO.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or similar designation preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis or a similar role.
- Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, IF statements) and familiarity with accounting software such as Elite, Aderant, or Clio.
- Strong understanding of trust accounting and legal billing practices.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities and the demands of business partners.
