About the Role

Our client, a well-established and reputable law firm, is seeking a Senior Legal Assistant with 3–5 years of experience in Plaintiff Personal Injury to join their busy Toronto practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned assistant who takes initiative, works independently, and can manage a high-volume caseload efficiently. The successful candidate will be confident in moving files forward with minimal direction and demonstrate strong organizational and litigation support skills in a fast-paced environment.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage approximately 100 active Plaintiff Personal Injury files with minimal supervision.

  • Prepare, organize, and serve medical records, productions, and related documentation.

  • Draft and assemble litigation materials including Affidavits of Documents, Briefs, Mediation Memos, and other court documents.

  • File pleadings and court materials in accordance with proper procedures and deadlines.

  • Coordinate and schedule Discoveries and Mediations, liaising with counsel, clients, and experts.

  • Process and track payment of invoices and disbursements.

  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems using Primafact and other document management tools.

  • Proactively monitor file progress and ensure timelines are met.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, medical providers, and opposing counsel.


Requirements

  • Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in Plaintiff Personal Injury litigation.

  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and litigation processes.

  • Experience with Primafact considered a strong asset.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Professional, proactive, and able to thrive in a busy legal environment.
