Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to assist with legal matters involving vehicle towing and storage disputes. This unique opportunity allows you to work with legislation such as the Repair and Storage Liens Act (RSLA) and the Towing and Storage Safety and Enforcement Act (TSSEA), handling client files from intake to resolution.
The ideal candidate will have strong litigation and research skills, a professional and client-focused approach, and the ability to manage a busy case load in a fast-paced legal environment.
Manage client files related to towing and storage disputes from intake to closure.
Conduct legal research and draft court documents, affidavits, and correspondence.
Represent clients in Small Claims Court and other proceedings.
Liaise professionally with clients, towing operators, insurers, court staff, storage facilities, and legal counsel.
Investigate claims, negotiate settlements, and resolve disputes involving overcharges, delayed notifications, or unauthorized repairs.
Ensure compliance with the RSLA, TSSEA, and Highway Traffic Act.
Maintain accurate file documentation, track deadlines, and prepare materials for hearings.
Provide administrative support including data entry, archiving, and general clerical duties.
Paralegal license in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
Strong knowledge of the Repair and Storage Liens Act (RSLA) and Towing and Storage Safety and Enforcement Act (TSSEA).
Excellent legal research and document drafting skills.
Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple files and meet tight deadlines independently or in a team environment.
Proficient in case management systems and e-filing processes.
Experience with TimeMatters, PrimaFact, GhostPractice, and Microsoft Office 365 is considered an asset.
