Our client, a mid-sized law firm located in the downtown core, is hiring a Corporate Legal Assistant to join their excellent team!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare, draft and transcribe correspondence and legal documents;
- Schedule meetings and co-ordinate appointments as required;
- Organize, open and maintain client files;
- Responsible for daily correspondence, document preparation, drafting and filing court documents;
- Manage and update calendar for Lawyers;
- Manage monthly invoicing and collect accounts receivables;
- File preparation and management; and
- General administrative duties including entering dockets and processing accounts.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience as a Corporate Legal Assistant or Law Clerk;
- Successful completion of Legal Assistant Diploma program;
- Understanding of Business and Corporate Law;
- Strong skills with PCLaw, Ecore and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook);
- Experience working with a document management system;
- Demonstrated skills in managing multiple priorities with ease;
- Experience processing bills and accounts on a monthly basis;
- Ability to work independently, following instructions with minimal supervision;
- Strong desire and ability to work independently and proactively;
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude towards others; and
- Ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies in record keeping.
