Our client is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Law Clerk / eDiscovery Specialist with 10+ years of experience to join their busy litigation team in Toronto. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and ambitious professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong technical expertise, and is committed to delivering quality client service. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player with exceptional communication, multitasking, and organizational skills, and must be able to handle high volumes of documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all procedural aspects of litigation files, from commencement to resolution
• Coordinate and oversee the document discovery process, including preservation notices, litigation hold memos, and chain of custody logs
• Prepare affidavits of documents, witness briefs, mediation and pre-trial briefs, motion records, and related correspondence in complex commercial litigation and class actions
• Assist counsel with examinations for discovery and manage undertakings and refusals
• Oversee electronic data management for discovery and trial, including document review teams and external eDiscovery vendors, ensuring cost-effective project completion
• Review and summarize transcripts, discovery evidence, and expert reports
• Arrange and participate in client and expert meetings
• Prepare trial protocols, assist with trial preparation, and attend trials as required
• Prepare bills of costs and costs outlines, and manage enforcement of judgments including electronic writ filings
• Maintain accurate audit logs, discovery workflows, and document review processes using litigation support software such as Relativity or equivalent
Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Litigation Law Clerk and/or eDiscovery Specialist
• Law Clerk diploma or completion of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) courses
• eDiscovery training with hands-on experience using litigation support platforms (Relativity or similar)
• In-depth knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and class action processes
• Strong technical proficiency in managing eDiscovery workflows, document production, and trial support
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to client service excellence
• Willingness to work outside of regular business hours when required
