Our client, a highly reputed National Firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support lawyers practicing in the areas of Competition and Tax litigation. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can manage complex files and provide exceptional administrative and legal support in a fast-paced practice.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, draft, and revise litigation documents including pleadings, motion records, affidavits, factums, and books of authorities
• Coordinate with process servers and court staff regarding filing, service, and scheduling of court materials
• Manage litigation calendars, scheduling hearings, motions, examinations, and client meetings
• Assist with document production, discovery management, and trial preparation
• Prepare expense reports, dockets, and client billing
• Communicate with clients, court offices, and opposing counsel in a professional and timely manner
• Maintain accurate file records, both electronic and physical, including archiving and retrieval as needed
• Provide general administrative support to lawyers, including correspondence, memos, and presentations
Requirements:
Legal Assistant certification from an accredited program with a minimum of 5 years’ litigation experience (Competition or Tax law experience an asset)
• Strong knowledge of court rules, procedures, and deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management software
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Exceptional proofreading, grammar, and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
