Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creating, revising and formatting documents to firm standards;
- Creating and editing mail merges, inserting media into presentations, creating, and editing graphs and objects;
- Creating PDF documents such as Books of Authority, Case Briefs, Filing Materials, inserting hyperlinks, pagination, black lining, side barring, redacting, and highlighting as instructed;
- Liaising with service providers in relation to document production;
- Converting PDF to Word or Excel documents; cleaning and formatting the new document(s);
- Creating blacklines using Workshare Compare and Litera Forte;
- Running document comparisons;
- Troubleshooting problem documents;
- Proofreading documents and correcting as necessary; and
- Any other duties as required.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in document production in a legal environment;
- Post secondary education in a Legal Assistant/Administration program or equivalent;
- Strong dictation/transcription skills;
- Strong word processing skills including superior accuracy, spelling, grammar, proofreading and attention to detail;
- Solid understanding of Document Management Systems;
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
- Advanced knowledge in Adobe PDF and MS Office Suite, Workshare Compare and BigHand software;
- A team player who is comfortable working independently as well as within a team setting and;
- Top notch communication and interpersonal skills.
