Our client, a reputable Toronto is hiring a Litigation Law Clerk! The firm has an excellent culture and a lot of career development opportunities.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist with general practice management, scheduling and overseeing calendar appointments;
- Support lawyers with various complex litigation matters;
- Prepare/draft client correspondence;
- Liaise with lawyers, clients, court staff, and other third parties;
- Prepare pleadings, motion records, Affidavits of Documents, etc.
- Maintain all aspects of physical and electronic client files;
- Coordinate service and filing of proceedings with agencies and courts through CaseLines/Case Center;
- Manage undertakings;
- Review and summarize transcripts;
- Prepare docketing and billing; and
- Any other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Law Clerk Diploma;
- 1-3 years experience in litigation;
- Comprehensive working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and filing requirements is required;
- Strong proficiency with MS Office;
- Experience with GhostPractice and iManage would be an asset but is not required;
- Professional, flexible attitude, with strong commitment to client service;
- Ability to remain calm under pressure; and
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
