Duties and Responsibilities:

 

-           Handle residential and commercial files and mortgage transactions from open to close;

-           Prepare necessary documentation to complete a commercial, residential and mortgage transactions;

-           Draft and review real property transaction closing documents, purchase agreements, title opinions, title insurance, leases, and mortgage financing documents;

-           Organize and coordinate transactions and documents for closings;

-           Perform title and off-title searches and identify any problems;

-           Liaise professionally with lawyers and clients;

-           Prepare client correspondence and requisition letters;

-           Assist other department clerks, and;

-           Any other tasks as required.

 

 

 

Requirements:

 

-           5+ years of experience emphasis on commercial real estate and mortgage transactions;

-           3-4 years private mortgage experience;

-           Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma;

-           The ability to fully handle residential/commercial real estate files, from open to close;

-           Proficiency in Teraview, Conveyancer and MS Office applications;

-           Working knowledge of legislation relevant to the Real Estate practice area, such as the Land Titles Act, Registry Act, Land Registration Reform Act, and the Planning Act;

-           Strong transactional background, including real property acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and title searching;

-           Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills;

-           Excellent written and verbal communication; and

-           The ability to work with minimal supervision.
