Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare documents required by members of the Banking Group,
- Provide assistance as part of a transaction team;
- Draft closing agendas and closing documents;
- Coordinate closing searches and prepare for execution of documents;
- Review security documentation;
- Open, close, assemble and maintain legal files;
- Draft Financing Statements according to the Personal Property Security Act (Ontario);
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma from a recognized Ontario Law Clerk program;
- 3+ years of legal experience in in Banking and Financing law;
- Good working and practical knowledge of laws/legislation relevant to banking practice including PPSA and OBCA, CBCA, LPA, BNA and CIA;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel,); and
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
