Client Profile

 Our client, a reputable Toronto firm is currently looking for a Trademark  Clerk. This firm has an excellent culture and a lot of career development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-           Assist trademark lawyers with the prosecution of Canadian and foreign trademark files;

-           Prepare and perform initial review of conflict searches before professional approval

-           Prepare retainer letters;

-           Communicate directly with clients and foreign agents regarding routine prosecution matters;

-           Prepare status reports and assist professionals with ad hoc projects;

-           Preparing and filing assignments, title documents and change of address information with CIPO;

-           Monitoring and responding to deadlines and other time sensitive matters;

-           Assist IP team as required; and

-           Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

-           5-10+ year’s relevant patent and trademark experience;

-           Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate;

-           Experience in Trademark prosecution;

-           Strong working knowledge of legal software and standard software (PATTSY, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

-           Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures and statutes, and;

-           Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
