Duties and Responsibilities:

-           Drafting, proofing, and editing correspondence and legal documentation;

-           Process and revise electronic documents including dictation, editing and preparing black lining as necessary;

-           Maintaining paper and e-filing systems;

-           Docket entry, pre-bill and account preparation;

-           Assist lawyers with corporate transactions and secured financings;

-           Readying dockets and accounts for approval;

-           Draft final reports and preparation of report books;

-           Communicating professionally with members of the firm and its clients;

-           Administrative duties including photocopying, filing, and scanning; and

-           Any other duties as required.

 

 

Requirements:

-           5+ years’ experience as a  Corporate Legal Assistant working in Securities;

-           Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma from an accredited institution;

-           Solid understanding of corporate transactions including mergers, acquisitions, commercial documents;

-           Solid understanding of financing transactions including secured loan transactions and an ability and willingness to assist with the closing and preparation of standard form documents is an asset;

-           The ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines;

-           Experience with MS Office 365 and Outlook;

-           Excellent attention to detail;

-           First class communication skills, written and verbal; and

-           The ability to work both independently with no supervision and as part of a busy team when required.
