Wabash, Indiana | $90,000$110,000 | Full-Time
When you're supporting a 24/7 industrial operation, maintenance isn't just about fixing equipment when it breaks. It's about having the right people, the right priorities, and the right systems in place to keep the operation running.
Our client is looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead a team of approximately 20 maintenance professionals at a large aluminum processing facility in Wabash.
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing plant maintenance, electrical support, and a dedicated mobile equipment team. The majority of the maintenance organization is mechanically focused and works on the heavy processing equipment that keeps the facility operating around the clock.
We're looking for someone who understands industrial maintenance, knows how to lead skilled tradespeople, and can bring structure and accountability to a busy maintenance department.
This is a 20-person maintenance organization supporting a 24/7 operation.
The team is structured around several areas of responsibility:
Plant Maintenance
The majority of the team is mechanically focused and responsible for maintaining the processing equipment throughout the facility.
Electrical Maintenance
An electrician provides dedicated electrical support for the plant's equipment and systems.
Mobile Equipment
A separate maintenance group supports the facility's mobile equipment, including forklifts, yard trucks, loaders, and other material-handling equipment.
You'll be responsible for bringing these different groups together and making sure the maintenance department is working toward the same goals.
We're looking for someone who has real industrial maintenance experience and understands what it takes to keep a heavy manufacturing operation running.
You should have:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, facility management, or a related field is preferred. CMM certification or similar credentials are a plus.
You don't have to be the person who can personally fix every piece of equipment.
You need to be the person who can lead the people who do.
The right person will know when to get involved technically, when to empower their team, and how to make good decisions when production is depending on them.
You'll bring organization to the maintenance department, develop your people, improve preventive maintenance, and help move the operation from reactive maintenance toward a more proactive and reliable approach.
You'll be accountable for:
These are consistent with the facility's stated performance expectations around equipment reliability, repair completion, budget control, safety, and preventive maintenance.
Salary: $90,000$110,000
This is a full-time leadership position supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation. While the Maintenance Manager will have a primary schedule, this role requires the flexibility to respond to significant equipment issues, maintenance projects, and operational needs when necessary. The original position description specifically notes that the schedule may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
This is an opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to take ownership of a 20-person maintenance organization and have a direct impact on the reliability of a major industrial operation.
If you've built your career around heavy mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, leadership, and keeping equipment running, and you're ready to lead a larger team and make a bigger impact, we'd like to talk with you.
