Job Description

Swiss CNC Machinist

1st Shift | Agawam, MA | Medical Device Manufacturing

$30–$37/hour
Monday–Friday | 6:00am–2:30pm

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Swiss Setup Machinist who can independently set up and run precision Swiss machining equipment and troubleshoot the day-to-day challenges that come with producing complex medical components.

You'll work primarily on Tsugami Swiss machines, producing precision components from materials including titanium.

This is a good opportunity for a machinist who has developed solid setup skills and wants to continue building their experience in a growing precision machining environment.

You don't need to be the most senior machinist in the shop. We're looking for someone who can take a job, set up the machine, get it running, monitor the process and make the adjustments needed to consistently produce quality parts.

What You'll Be Doing

Setup & Machining

  • Perform CNC Swiss machine setups
  • Set tooling, workholding and machine parameters
  • Load and verify programs
  • Set and adjust tool offsets
  • Make machine adjustments during production
  • Run precision medical components
  • Monitor machine performance and part quality
  • Make tooling and process adjustments as needed

Troubleshooting & Quality

  • Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
  • Identify problems during production and make appropriate corrections
  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Perform in-process inspections
  • Use precision measuring equipment
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards
  • Communicate quality or production issues when additional support is needed

The expectation is that you can work independently on your assigned machines while knowing when to ask for help on something outside your experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Solid Swiss machining experience
  • Experience performing CNC Swiss setups
  • Comfortable making tool and offset adjustments
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine machining issues
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
  • Experience with precision measurement
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Commitment to quality and consistent production

We don't need someone with 10+ years of experience. We're looking for someone who has built a good foundation in Swiss machining and is ready to continue developing.

Preferred Experience

  • Tsugami Swiss machines
  • Medical device manufacturing
  • Titanium machining
  • Tight-tolerance components
  • Experience with complex Swiss machining operations

Why This Role Stands Out

  • $30–$37/hour
  • 1st Shift: 6:00am–2:30pm
  • Monday–Friday
  • Work primarily on Tsugami Swiss equipment
  • Precision medical device components
  • Titanium machining
  • Opportunity to continue developing your setup and troubleshooting skills
  • Growing operation with opportunities for advancement
  • Stable, long-term manufacturing environment

Schedule & Overtime

Monday–Friday | 6:00am–2:30pm

Many machinists choose to extend their days, commonly staying until 4:30pm.

Additional overtime opportunities may be available on Fridays based on production needs.

Overtime is completely voluntary.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $30–$37/hour
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance beginning the 1st of the month after hire
  • 8 paid holidays + 3 floating holidays
  • PTO beginning at 2 weeks annually
  • Overtime hours count toward PTO accrual, allowing many employees to earn additional PTO during their first year
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Company-sponsored insurance plans
  • Annual performance reviews and merit increases

The Bottom Line

If you're a Swiss Machinist who has developed solid setup skills and wants a role where you can put those skills to work, this is a strong opportunity.

You'll be setting up and running Tsugami Swiss machines, working with precision medical components and titanium, and troubleshooting the machining issues that come with complex, tight-tolerance work.
