CNC Machinist / CNC Operator

2nd Shift | Southampton, PA | Aerospace Manufacturing

Full-Time | Monday–Thursday | 3:30pm–2:00am

Compensation

$27.00–$39.00/hour base pay

+ 15% 2nd Shift Premium

$31.05–$44.85/hour effective hourly rate

Pay is based on experience and skill level. Candidates with strong CNC setup, troubleshooting, and first-article experience will be considered toward the higher end of the range.

The Opportunity

We're hiring CNC Machinists and CNC Operators for a growing aerospace manufacturing operation in Southampton, PA.

The facility produces precision aerospace components from aluminum, stainless steel, and magnesium, ranging from smaller hand-sized components to larger parts approximately 2' x 2'.

We're open to candidates at different levels of CNC experience.

If you're an experienced Setup Machinist who can set up machines, troubleshoot machining processes, make offsets, and perform first-article inspections, you can earn toward the top of the pay range.

We're also interested in experienced CNC Operators who have solid production experience but haven't yet developed extensive setup or first-article experience.

The important thing is that you know CNC machining, take pride in your work, and care about producing quality parts.

You'll work with modern CNC equipment including Haas, DMG Mori, and Doosan machines with Fanuc controls, across both milling and turning operations.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will depend on your experience level.

For Experienced CNC Machinists / Setup Machinists

• Perform CNC machine setups and changeovers
• Work with CNC mills and/or lathes/turning equipment
• Load and verify CNC programs
• Install tooling, fixtures, and workholding
• Make offsets and process adjustments
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
• Support multiple machines
• Perform first-piece/first-article inspections
• Maintain quality throughout production
• Help optimize machining processes
• Work with Programming, Engineering, and Quality when issues arise

For CNC Operators

• Run CNC production equipment
• Load and unload parts
• Monitor machines throughout the production cycle
• Perform in-process inspections
• Use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Make basic adjustments as trained
• Identify tooling or machining issues
• Communicate problems to the appropriate team member
• Deburr finished components
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

You do not have to be a fully qualified setup machinist to be considered. Solid CNC production experience can qualify you for an Operator-level opportunity, with room to continue developing your setup and machining skills.

Quality & Inspection

Quality is a major part of the job, but the level of responsibility will depend on your experience.

You may:

• Perform first-piece/first-article inspections
• Complete in-process inspections
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
• Verify finished components meet specifications
• Hold tight tolerances
• Identify and communicate quality issues
• Deburr finished components

Why 2nd Shift?

This is a four-day workweek, with Friday available for voluntary overtime.

After jobs have been released into production, 2nd Shift plays an important role in keeping production moving and maintaining quality.

You'll have opportunities to:

What We're Looking For

Experienced CNC Machinists / Setup Machinists

Candidates targeting the higher end of the pay range will typically have:

• Strong CNC setup experience
• Experience with CNC mills OR CNC lathes/turning
• Ability to load programs and complete machine setups
• Experience performing first-piece/first-article inspections
• Ability to make offsets and process adjustments
• Experience troubleshooting machining and tooling issues
• Blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation
• Strong precision measurement skills

CNC Operators

For Operator-level opportunities:

• Previous CNC machining or production experience
• Experience operating CNC mills or lathes
• Ability to read basic blueprints or work instructions
• Basic understanding of precision measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable work history
• Commitment to quality
• Willingness to learn additional setup and machining skills

Preferred

• 4- or 5-axis machining experience
• Fanuc controls
• Haas, DMG Mori, or Doosan experience
• Aerospace machining experience
• Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, or magnesium
• GD&T knowledge
• Experience holding tight tolerances

Schedule & Overtime

Monday–Thursday | 3:30pm–2:00am

That's four 10-hour shifts, giving you Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.

Overtime is completely voluntary.
