The Opportunity
This isn’t a high-volume production welding job.
This is a shop-based welding and fabrication role where you’ll work on a variety of projects as part of a newly built, in-house weld/fab team.
The company recently brought fabrication in-house, creating an opportunity for welders who want more variety, hands-on work, and a true shop environment — not just running the same parts all day.
If you like building, fitting, and working on different projects — this is that kind of role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform MIG welding on steel components
- Assist with basic fabrication and fit-up
- Work from prints or instructions to complete parts accurately
- Support shop projects tied to production and facility needs
- Maintain weld quality and consistency
- Keep your workspace clean and organized
This is a hands-on fabrication role, not just repetitive welding.
What You’ll Work On
- Steel components and assemblies
- Shop-built parts and fabrication projects
- Equipment and production-related fabrication work
What We’re Looking For
- Welding experience (MIG preferred)
- Ability to read basic prints or follow instructions
- Interest in fabrication work, not just production welding
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Note: A weld test is part of the hiring process.
Schedule & Hours
- 1st Shift: Start at 6:00am
- 50–55 hours per week typical, some 40 hour weeks
- Overtime is consistent and built into the schedule
This is ideal for someone who wants steady hours with consistent income.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Newly built in-house weld/fabrication shop
- More variety than typical production welding roles
- $24/hour starting pay + consistent overtime
- Reliable weekly hours
- Part of a larger organization with long-term stability
- Local facility with a family-style culture dating back to 1902
Work Environment
- Metal fabrication and finishing environment
- Shop-style welding and fabrication work
- Industrial setting with typical shop conditions
The Bottom Line
If you’re a welder who wants steady hours but more variety than a production line, this is a strong opportunity to get into a growing in-house fabrication shop.
