Fort Wayne, IN | Aluminum Casting & Machining Environment
We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician for a financially strong, family-owned manufacturing company in Fort Wayne.
This is a hands-on role supporting a facility that produces aluminum castings and machining components. The building itself has been around a long time, but much of the equipment is modern — including two recently installed machines as part of ongoing investment in the operation.
This is a place where employees get to know the owners personally. Leadership is accessible, supportive, and actively involved in helping employees succeed.
If you enjoy solving mechanical and electrical problems, working independently, and keeping production running, this is a great opportunity to join a stable organization.
1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
$27–$33/hour
The facility is currently very busy and overtime is common, including Saturdays through mid-April
Opportunity to work on special projects involving new equipment and process improvements
Maintenance technicians support the entire operation — from production equipment to facility systems.
You’ll:
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase
Diagnose issues involving hydraulics and pneumatics
Work from blueprints and schematics
Maintain production equipment used in casting and machining operations
Perform maintenance on gas-powered forklifts and other facility vehicles
Assist with facility maintenance projects
Participate in planning and installation of new equipment
Support process improvements and equipment modifications
Technicians are trusted to work independently and solve problems as they arise.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial electrical systems
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
Comfortable working with minimal supervision
Experience maintaining production equipment and facility systems
This is a heavy industrial environment supporting aluminum casting and machining operations.
The facility is older and the work can be hot, dirty, and physically demanding at times.
If you prefer a clean, climate-controlled environment, this likely isn’t the right fit.
However, the company continues to invest in improvements — including recently installed production equipment and a newly renovated employee breakroom.
Very affordable health, dental, and vision insurance with strong coverage
Life insurance fully paid by the employer
Stable company with long-term employees
Family-owned company with strong financial backing
Ownership is approachable and personally involved with employees
Stable operation with continued investment in equipment
Mid-sized company where individuals can make a real impact
This is a strong opportunity for a technician who enjoys hands-on industrial work and a company where leadership is accessible.
