Job Description

Job Title: Transaction Litigation Legal Assistant

A respected suburban Detroit law firm is seeking a Transaction Litigation Legal Assistant to provide high-level support to attorneys handling business, real estate, and municipal matters with related litigation components. This role blends transactional administrative support with litigation document preparation and organization.

Responsibilities
Draft, revise, and format transactional documents, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence.
Organize and maintain case files for both transactional and litigation matters.
Coordinate closings, depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
Prepare exhibits, contracts, and trial or hearing binders.
Electronically file documents in state and federal courts.
Monitor case deadlines, manage calendars, and assist with client communication and billing entry.

Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a legal assistant supporting business, real estate, or municipal attorneys.
Understanding of both transactional document preparation and litigation procedures.
Strong knowledge of court filing processes and legal formatting standards.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software.
